United Consumer Advocacy Network, LLC (UCAN) is a consumer advocacy company that vigorously defends the rights of consumers against unlawful, unfair, and deceptive practices by financial institutions, particularly creditors and their bill collectors.

These rights, granted by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and various state laws, are frequently being violated by under-trained or unscrupulous collectors. Debtor Advocacy Group Joins Forces with Law Firm

The United Consumers Advocacy Network (UCAN) has a strategic alliance with Apex Law Group to offer legal support to clients of debt relief agencies. The alliance will provide UCAN clients with levels of support ranging from basic assistance over the phone to actual legal representation in court if a client's rights under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act or the Fair Credit Reporting Act appear to be violated. UCAN executive Dave Leuthold says that there is a growing need to protect consumers enrolled in debt relief programs against harassing, threatening, deceptive and unfair debt collection practices.
